Paballo Molakeng’s (7) solid foundation helps him perform well in Grade 1

Paballo lives in Lakeside Extension Five with his parents and siblings. From the age of three he attended creche at JAM supported Tiyani Day Care & Pre School where he received a nutritious bowl of the JAM porridge and much needed stimulation for his early childhood development.

Although his parents sometimes struggled to pay for his creche fees, they always did what they can to provide for Paballo and his siblings well being. His mother Puleng Mareletse said she would work odd jobs and get financial assistance from her mother whenever she could not make ends meet.

Martha Mnganye (Tiyani Day Care & Pre School Principal) said Paballo is one of few children that are reported to be performing well in school. “In his first report his marks were already outstanding and his mother came to show and thank me” said Martha. He also received certificates for cleanliness and outstanding performance.

Martha said the madeover creche structure, donated educational toys as well and the JAM porridge all contributed to Paballo’s impressive progress. She also mentioned that Paballo loved the JAM porridge and would ask for more.

This year Paballo is going to Grade Two at Qoqizizwe Primary School in Orange Farm Extension 1. He said he is looking forward to going to school and that when he grows up he wants to be a Doctor.
