“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children” – Nelson Mandela.
What better way to spend Mandela Day on 18 July than with some of our country’s most precious children. Join hands with Joint Aid Management this year and truly experience what it means to give and receive in one of the child care centres that benefit from our Nutritional Feeding programme.
Each school day we give 30 000 children in South Africa a Red Bowl of highly nutritious porridge, which provides them with over 70% of their nutritional intake.
We have a number of projects lined up for the day: Child care centre makeovers, play dates between different pre-primary schools and the distribution of food hampers, winter woolies and toys.
We’d love to do more and would like to extend a hand to any individuals or corporates who want to get involved – whether it be by funding a makeover of one of our JAM-supported child care centres or coming to spend the day in one of the informal settlements that we work in.
We will also welcome donations of winter woolies (blankets, scarves, beanies and gloves), educational books and toys, play equipment, clothes and anything else that would touch the lives of South African children between the ages of zero and six.
